GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2706; (P) 1.2736; (R1) 1.2772; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.2799 continues. Further rise is expected as long as 1.2670 support holds. Above 1.2799 will resume the rally from 1.2298 and target 1.2892 resistance. However, break of 1.2670 will indicate short term topping, and turn bias back to the downside for deeper pullback.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern. Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg which might have completed already. Break of 1.2892 resistance will argue that larger up trend from 1.0351(2022 low) is ready to resume through 1.3141. Meanwhile, break of 1.2445 support will extend the corrective pattern with another decline instead.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. Further decline is expected as long as 1.2739 resistance holds. Break of 1.2622, and sustained trading below 1.2633 resistance turned support will argue that whole rise from 1.2298 has completed, and target 1.2445 and below. However, firm break of 1.2739 will argue that pull back from 1.2859 has completed, and bring retest of this high instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern that is still in progress. Break of 1.2445 support will confirm that another falling leg has started and target 1.2036 cluster support again (38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075. Nevertheless, break of 1.2892 resistance will argue that larger up trend from 1.0351is ready to resume through 1.3141.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

GBP/USD dips notably today but stays in range of 1.2346/2705. Intraday bias remains neutral first and outlook is unchanged. Price actions from 1.1946 are viewed as a consolidation pattern, with rise from 1.1986 as the third leg. In case of another rise, we’d expect upside to be limited by 1.2774 to bring larger down trend resumption. On the downside, below 1.2346 will revive the case that such consolidation is completed at 1.2705 already. In that case, intraday bias will turn back to the downside for retesting 1.1946 low.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term bottoming yet. Sustained trading below 61.8% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 1.2457 will target 100% projection at 0.9532. Overall, break of 1.3444 resistance is needed to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3289; (P) 1.3365; (R1) 1.3442; More

Focus is immediately on 1.3482 resistance in GBP/USD with today’s rise. Decisive break of 1.3482 will confirm resumption of whole rise from 1.1409. Next target will be 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.3482 from 1.2675 at 1.3956 next. On the downside, break of 1.3283 support will turn bias back to the downside, to extend the consolidation from 1.3482 with another falling leg.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3514 key resistance. Decisive break there should also come with sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3308). That should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Outlook will be turned bullish for 1.4376 resistance and above. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3516; (P) 1.3540; (R1) 1.3572; More

Outlook in GBP/USD is unchanged and intraday bias stays neutral first. On the upside, break of 1.3627 will resume the rebound to 1.3748 resistance. Firm break there will revive the bullish case that correction from 1.4248 has completed with three waves down to 1.3158. Further rally should then be seen to retest 1.4248 high. On the downside, however, break of 1.3356 will bring retest of 1.3158 low.

In the bigger picture, as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164 holds, up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) is still in progress. On resumption, next target will be 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Nevertheless sustained break of 1.3164 will argue that whole rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1766; (P) 1.1837; (R1) 1.1895; More

GBP/USD is staying inside tight range below 1.2028 as sideway consolidation continues. Intraday bias remains neutral first, and further rally is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. On the upside, break of 1.2028 will resume whole rise from 1.0351 to 100% projection of 1.0351 to 1.1494 from 1.1145 at 1.2288. However, sustained break of 1.1644 will bring deeper fall to 1.1145 support instead.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1145 support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3076; (P) 1.3125; (R1) 1.3177; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral for consolidation below 1.3174 temporary top. With 1.2951 minor support intact, further rise could still be seen to 1.3257/3297 resistance zone. However, as rise fro 1.2692 is seen as the third leg of consolidation pattern from 1.2661, we’d expect strong resistance from 1.3316 fibonacci level to limit upside to bring down trend resumption eventually. On the downside, below 1.2951 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2692 and then 1.2661 key support.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3278; (P) 1.3309; (R1) 1.3354; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays on the upside for 61.8% projection of 1.2664 to 1.3265 from 1.3000 at 1.3371. Firm break there will pave the way to 100% projection at 1.3601 next. On the downside, below 1.3219 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations first. But outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.3000 support holds.

In the bigger picture, up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low) is in progress. Next target is 38.2% projection of 1.0351 to 1.3141 from 1.2298 at 1.3364. Decisive break there will target 61.8% projection at 1.4022. For now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2892 resistance turned support holds, even in case of deep pullback.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3834; (P) 1.3886; (R1) 1.3985; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for consolidation above 1.3785 temporary low. On the downside, break of 1.3785 will resume the fall from 1.3785, as third leg of consolidation pattern from 1.4240, to 1.3668 support and below. On the upside, sustained break of 4 hour 55 EMA (now at 1.3996) will bring retest of 1.4240/8 resistance zone instead.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 1.2675 support and below.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3109; (P) 1.3147; (R1) 1.3182; More….

GBP/USD lost momentum after hitting 1.3185 and intraday bias is turned neutral again. Further rise will remain in favor as long as 1.2982 support holds. On the upside, break of 1.3185 will resume larger rally to 100% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2647 from 1.2065 at 1.3303 next. However, firm break of 1.2982 will suggest short term topping and turn bias to the downside for deeper correction.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is not enough evidence for trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. However, decisive break of 1.3514 should at least confirm medium term bottoming and turn outlook bullish for 1.4376 resistance first.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2899; (P) 1.2951; (R1) 1.2979; More

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook as corrective pattern from 1.3514 is extending. On the downside, sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.1958 to 1.3514 at 1,2920 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2552. On the upside, break of 1.3209 should bring retest of 1.3514 high.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is expected to extend higher to retest 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1893; (P) 1.2006; (R1) 1.2070; More

GBP/USD’s consolidation from 1.2152 is extending and intraday bias stays neutral. Further rally is expected with 1.1777 support intact. Break of 1.2152will target 100% projection of 1.0351 to 1.1494 from 1.1145 at 1.2288 first. Sustained break there will pave the way to 1.2759 medium term fibonacci level.

Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s correction from 1.3651 continued last week but overall outlook is unchanged. Initial bias stays neutral this week first. Downside of retreat should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.2773 to 1.3651 at 1.3316 and bring rise resumption. Break of 1.3651 will extend the larger rally for 1.3835 support turned resistance next.

In the bigger picture, current development argues that the long term trend in GBP/USD has reversed. That is, a key bottom was formed back in 1.1946 on bullish convergence condition in monthly MACD. Current rise from 1.1946 will target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466 next. In any case, medium term outlook will now stay bullish as long as 1.2773 support holds.

In the longer term picture, current development argues that whole down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) is completed at 1.1946 already (2016 low). It’s too early to tell if GBP/USD is starting a long term up trend. But in any case, further rise is in favor to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1946 at 1.5466 next. We’ll monitor the structure of the current rally from 1.1946 to decide if it’s an impulsive move.

GBP/USD’s rally resumes after brief consolidation and reaches and edges higher to 1.3151. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 00% projection of 1.2661 to 1.3042 from 1.2784 at 1.3165 and above. However, as rise from 1.2661 is seen as a corrective move, upside should be limited by 1.3316 key fibonacci level to bring near term reversal. On the downside, break of 1.3042 resistance turn support will argue that rebound from 1.2661 might be completed. In such case, intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.2784 support to confirm.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4062).

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2692; (P) 1.2729; (R1) 1.2786; More…

GBP/USD is extending sideway trading below 1.2826 and intraday bias remains neutral. On the upside, decisive break of 1.2826 high will resume whole rally from 1.2036. Nevertheless, another fall and break of 1.2611 will bring deeper correction to 1.2499 support instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg that’s in progress. Upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1495; (P) 1.1567; (R1) 1.1703; More

GBP/USD’s rally is still in progress and intraday bias stays on the upside. Break of 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.1494 from 1.0922 at 1.1628 will extend the rise from 1.0351 to 100% projection at 1.2065. On the downside, below 1.1429 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first. But further rally will remain in favor as long as 1.0922 support holds, in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) is part of the long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.1759 support turned resistance holds. Parity would be the next target on resumption. Nevertheless, firm break of 1.1759 will confirm medium term bottoming, and open up stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.2392).

However, firm break of 1.3043 will turn bias back to the downside for deeper pullback.

In the bigger picture, up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low) is in progress. Next target is 38.2% projection of 1.0351 to 1.3141 from 1.2298 at 1.3364. For now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2664 support holds, even in case of deep pullback.

GBP/USD’s fall from 1.3297 is still in progress and intraday bias remains on the downside for 1.2784 support. Firm break there will likely resume larger down trend from 1.4376 through 1.2661. On the upside, break of 1.3022 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral and bring recovery. But risk will stay on the downside as long as 1.3297 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4062).

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2381; (P) 1.2428; (R1) 1.2482; More

GBP/USD’s rebound and break of 1.2475 minor resistance argues that pull back from 1.2614 might be completed. Intraday bias is turned back to the upside for 1.2614. Break will extend the rise from 1.2108. Overall, price actions from 1.1946 are viewed as a consolidation pattern pattern. Upside should be limited by 1.2705/2774 resistance zone to bring larger down trend resumption eventually. On the downside, below 1.2376 will target 1.2108 support next.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term reversal yet. Sustained trading below 61.8% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 1.2457 will target 100% projection at 0.9532. GBP/USD Daily Chart

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2250; (P) 1.2277; (R1) 1.2313; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. Strong rebound from 55 4H EMA (now at 1.2246) will maintain near term bullishness for another rise to 38.2% retracement of 1.3141 to 1.2036 at 1.2458. However, sustained break of 4H 55 EMA will revive near term bearishness and bring retest of 1.2036 low instead.

In the bigger picture, the strong rebound from 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075 argues that price action from 1.3141 are merely a correction to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Current rally from 1.2036 is tentatively seen as the second leg of the pattern. Hence, while further rally is in favor, upside should be limited by 1.3141 to start the third leg.
