USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2845; (P) 1.2890; (R1) 1.2917; More

Intraday bias in USD/CAD stays neutral at this point. On the downside, below 1.2818 will extend the fall from 1.3077 to 55 day EMA (now at 1.2800). Sustained break there will target 1.2516 support next. On the upside, break of 1.3077 and sustained trading above 1.3022 fibonacci level will carry larger bullish implications, and bring up trend resumption.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 38.2% retracement of 1.4667 (2020 high) to 1.2005 (2021 low) at 1.3022. Sustained break there should confirm that the down trend from 1.4667 has completed after defending 1.2061 long term cluster support. Further rise would then be seen towards 61.8% retracement at 1.3650. However, rejection by 1.3022 will maintain medium term bearishness.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3719; (P) 1.3764; (R1) 1.3810; More

Range trading continues in USD/CAD and intraday bias remains neutral. Outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.3501 support holds. Firm break of 1.3976 will resume larger up trend, and target 200% projection of 1.2005 to 1.2947 from 1.2401 at 1.4285.

In the bigger picture, up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low) is still in progress. Based on current impulsive momentum, it could be resuming long term up trend from 0.9056 (2007 low). Whether it is or it isn’t, retest of 1.4689 (2016 high) should be seen next. This will now remain the favored case as long as 1.3222 resistance turned support holds.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3666; (P) 1.3742; (R1) 1.3805; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains neutral for the moment. Consolidations from 1.3860 could extend further. But downside should be contained by 1.3664 resistance turned support to bring another rally. On the upside, break of 1.3860 will resume the rally from 1.3261 to retest 1.3976 high. However, firm break of 1.3664 will mix up the near term outlook and bring deeper pullback first.

In the bigger picture, the up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low) is still in progress. Break of 1.3976 will confirm resumption and target 61.8% projection of 1.2401 to 1.3976 from 1.3261 at 1.4234. Firm break there will pave the way to long term resistance zone at 1.4667/89 (2016, 2020 highs). On the downside, break of 1.3261 support is needed to confirm medium term topping. Otherwise, outlook will remain bullish even in case of deep pull back.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3167; (P) 1.3224; (R1) 1.3269; More

USD/CAD’s fall from 1.3664 reached as low as 1.3180 so far. Downside momentum is diminishing as seen in 4 hour MACD. But there is no clear sign of bottoming yet. Intraday bias stays on the downside for 61.8% retracement of 1.2781 to 1.3664 at 1.3118. We’ll start look for bottoming sign below there. On the upside, above 1.3267 minor resistance will turn bias neutral first. But risk will stay on the downside as long as 4 hour 55 EMA (now at 1.3394) remains intact.

In the bigger picture, the medium term rise from 1.2061 (2017 low) might continue further. But the structure of such rise is not clearly impulsive so far. Hence, we’d stay cautious on strong resistance from 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685 and 1.3793 resistance to limit upside, and bring medium term topping. But in any case, medium term outlook will stay bullish as long as channel support (now at 1.2993) holds. Sustained break of 1.3793 will pave the way to retest 1.4689 (2015 high).

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3660; (P) 1.3698; (R1) 1.3729; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains neutral for the moment. Consolidation from 1.3784 could extend further. On the upside, decisive break of 1.3784 resistance will resume the rise from 1.3091 to retest 1.3976 high. On the downside, however, break of 1.3615 support will bring another falling leg to extend the near term corrective pattern from 1.3784.

In the bigger picture, current development revives the case that corrective pattern from 1.3976 (2022 high) has completed with three waves down to 1.3091. Decisive break of 1.3976 high will confirm resumption of up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low). Next target will be 61.8% projection of 1.2401 to 1.3976 from 1.3091 at 1.4064. This will now remain the favored case as long as 1.3378 support holds.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2939; (P) 1.2961; (R1) 1.3000; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains neutral for the moment. Considering bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD, break of 1.3013 will indicate short term bottoming. In such case, stronger rebound would be seen back to 1.3164/3346 resistance zone first, before staging another fall. Overall, we’d expect decline from 1.3793 to extend later and sustained trading below 1.2968 cluster support, 61.8% retracement of 1.2460 to 1.3793 at 1.2969 will pave the way to retesting 1.2460 low.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.4689 medium term top are seen as a correction pattern. The second leg should have finished at 1.3793. Break of 1.2460 will extend such correction to 50% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4869 at 1.2048. At this point, we’d look for strong support from there to contain downside and bring rebound. However, firm break there will target 100% projection of 1.4689 to 1.2460 from 1.3793 at 1.1564.

At this point, with 1.3091 minor resistance intact, deeper fall is in favor in USD/CAD for 1.2961 support. Break there will resume whole decline from 1.3385. More importantly, that will also break medium term channel support firmly and carries larger bearish implications. On the upside, above 1.3091 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 1.3173 resistance. Break there will indicate completion of fall from 1.3385 and turn outlook bullish again.

In the bigger picture, as long as channel support (now at 1.2965) holds, we’re holding to the bullish view. That is, fall from 1.4689 (2015 high) has completed at 1.2061, ahead of 50% retracement of 0.9406 (2011 low) to 1.4689 (2015 high) at 1.2048. Further rally should be seen for 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 to 1.2061 at 1.3685 and above. However, sustained break of the channel support will argue that rise from 1.2061 has completed. Further decline should be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.3385 at 1.2879 first. Sustained break will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2567 and below.

USD/CAD Weekly Outlook

USD/CAD’s up trend extended higher last week and resumed after brief retreat. Initial bias is back on the upside this week. next target is 161.8% projection of 1.2005 to 1.2947 from 1.2401 at 1.3925. Firm break there will target 200% projection at 1.4285. On the downside, break of 1.3601 minor support is needed to indicate short term topping. Otherwise, outlook will stay bullish in case of retreat.

In the longer term picture, price actions from 1.4689 (2016 high) are seen as a consolidation pattern only, which might have completed at 1.2005. That is, up trend from 0.9506 (2007 low) is expected to resume at a later stage. This will remain the favored case as long as 1.2061 support holds, which is close to 50% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4689 at 1.2048.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3125; (P) 1.3170; (R1) 1.3234; More

USD/CAD’s rebound from 1.3016 resumed after brief consolidation and broke 1.3199 resistance. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 1.3564/3664 resistance zone. On the downside, break of 1.3105 will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.3016 low instead.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3068 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.3664 at 1.3052) will confirm completion of up trend from 1.2061 (2017 low). Further fall should be seen to 61.8% retracement at 1.2673 next. On the upside, sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685, is needed to confirm resumption of up trend from 1.2061 (2017 low). Otherwise, risk will stay on the downside.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3486; (P) 1.3503; (R1) 1.3523; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.3387 extends. Upside should be limited by 1.3570 resistance and bring fall resumption. We’re holding on to the view that rise from 1.2968 has completed. And the larger rise from 1.2460 could have finished too. Below 1.3387 will target 1.3222 support first. Break of 1.3222 will affirm our bearish view and target 1.2968 key support level for confirmation. However, break of 1.3570 will turn focus back to 1.3793 high instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.4689 medium term top are seen as a correction pattern. The first leg has completed at 1.2460. Rise from 1.2460 is seen as the second leg and could have completed at 1.3793, ahead of 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 to 1.2460 at 1.3838. Break of 1.3222 should indicate the start of the third leg while further break of 1.2968 should confirm. Nonetheless, sustained trading above 1.3838 would pave the way to retest 1.4689 high.

USD/CAD Daily Chart

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3138; (P) 1.3187; (R1) 1.3216; More

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains on the downside at this point. Choppy rise fro 1.3016 should have completed at 1.3382. Further fall should be seen for retesting 1.3016 low. On the upside, above 1.3247 minor resistance will turn focus back to 1.3382 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, key cluster support of 1.3068 (38.2% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.3664 at 1.3052) remains intact. Medium term rise from 1.2061 low is in favor to resume sooner or later. Firm break of 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685 will confirm and target 1.4689 high. However, sustained break of 1.3052/68 will confirm completion of up trend from 1.2061 (2017 low). Further fall should be seen to 61.8% retracement at 1.2673 next.

USD/CAD Weekly Outlook

USD/CAD’s strong rebound suggests short term bottoming at 1.3176, on bullish convergence condition in 4H MACD. Despite some loss of upside momentum, further rally is in favor this week as long as 1.3286 minor support holds, to 38.2% retracement of 1.3897 to 1.3176 at 1.3451. Firm break there will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.3622. On the downside, however, break of 1.3286 will turn bias back to the downside for 1.3176 low instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3976 (2022 high) are viewed as a corrective pattern only. While fall from 1.3897 could still extend through 1.3091, strong support should emerge above 1.2947 resistance turned support to bring rebound. Overall, larger up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low) is still expected to resume at a later stage

In the longer term picture, price actions from 1.4689 (2016 high) are seen as a consolidation pattern, which might have completed at 1.2005. That is, up trend from 0.9506 (2007 low) is expected to resume at a later stage. This will remain the favored case as long as 1.2947 resistance turned support holds.

USD/CAD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3440; (P) 1.3467; (R1) 1.3485; More

USD/CAD dips notably in early US session but stays well above 1.3357 support. Intraday bias remains neutral first and further rally is in favor. On the upside, decisive break of 1.3540/3 will resume the rise from 1.3176. That will also revive that case that whole fall from 1.3897 has completed, and target this resistance. Nevertheless, firm break of 1.3357 support will argue that rebound from 1.3176 has completed, and target this low for resuming whole fall from 1.3897.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3976 (2022 high) are viewed as a corrective pattern only. In case of another fall, strong support should emerge above 1.2947 resistance turned support to bring rebound. Overall, larger up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low) is still expected to resume through 1.3976 at a later stage.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3283; (P) 1.3295; (R1) 1.3318; More

USD/CAD is staying in consolidation from 1.3327 and intraday bias remains neutral first. Deeper retreat cannot be ruled out. But downside should be contained above 1.3190 support to bring another rise. On the upside, break of 1.3327 will resume the rise from 1.3042 to 1.3347/82 resistance zone. Firm break there will suggest completion of consolidation from 1.3664. However, break of 1.3190 will indicate completion of the rebound and turn bias back to the downside for 1.3042 support.

In the bigger picture, 38.2% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.364 at 1.3052 remains intact. Medium term rise from 1.2061 low is in favor to resume sooner or later. Firm break of 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685 will confirm and target 1.4689 high. However, sustained break of 1.3052 will confirm completion of up trend from 1.2061 (2017 low). Further fall should be seen to 61.8% retracement at 1.2673 next.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3122; (P) 1.3148; (R1) 1.3168; More

USD/CAD is staying in consolidation from 1.3207 temporary top and intraday bias remains neutral. Further rise is expected with 1.2971 support intact. On the upside, decisive break of 1.3222 will resume larger up trend from 1.2005. Next target is 100% projection of 1.2005 to 1.2947 from 1.2401 at 1.3343.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4667 (2020 high) should have completed at 1.2005, after defending 1.2061 long term cluster support. Rise from there should target 61.8% retracement of 1.4667 to 1.2005 (2021 low) at 1.3650. This will remain the favored case now as long as 1.2516 support holds.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3965; (P) 1.3987; (R1) 1.4004; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains neutral first. Corrective pattern from 1.4667 might extend but downside should be contained by 61.8% retracement of 1.3202 to 1.4667 at 1.3762 to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 1.4140 resistance will indicate completion of the correction. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for retesting 1.4667. However, sustained break of 1.3762 will bring deeper fall to 1.3664 key support next.

In the bigger picture, at this point, we’re still seeing rise from 1.2061 (2017 low) as resuming up trend from 0.9056 (2007 low). Decisive break of 1.4689 (2016 high) will confirm this bullish case. Next medium term target is 161.8% projection of 1.2061 to 1.3664 from 1.2951 at 1.5545. Rejection by 1.4689 will bring some consolidations first. But outlook will remain bullish as long as 1.3664 resistance turned support holds, even in case of deep pull back.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2529; (P) 1.2547; (R1) 1.2576; More

Further decline is still expected in USD/CAD with 1.2685 minor resistance. Fall from 1.3075 should target 1.2401 support first. Decisive break of 1.2401 support will argue that whole rebound from 1.2005 has completed, after rejection by 1.3022 fibonacci resistance. Deeper fall would then be seen to retest this low. On the upside, above 1.2685 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for stronger recovery.

Break of 1.2005 will resume the down trend from 1.4667 and that carries larger bearish implications too.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3223; (P) 1.3242; (R1) 1.3259; More

Intraday bias in USD/CAD stays neutral first. Focus is now on 1.3209 support. Break will bring deeper decline to 1.3133 and possibly below. On the upside, above 1.3310 will target 1.3382 resistance first. Break will resume the whole rise from 1.3016 and target 1.3564 resistance next.

USD/CAD surged to as high as 1.3467 last week but formed temporary top there and retreated. Initial bias is turned neutral this week for consolidation first. The break of 1.3340 resistance confirmed completion of corrective decline from 1.3664. Retreat from 1.3467 should be contained by 1.3301 support to bring another rally. On the upside, break of 1.3467 will target 1.3664 resistance then 1.3685 fibonacci level.

In the bigger picture, structure of the medium term rise from 1.2061 (2017 low) to 1.3664 is not clearly impulsive. Hence, we’d stay cautious on strong resistance from 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685 and 1.3793 resistance to limit upside, and bring medium term topping. But in any case, medium term outlook will stay bullish as long as channel support (now at 1.3139) holds. Sustained break of 1.3793 will pave the way to retest 1.4689 (2015 high). Firm break of the channel support should confirm reversal target 1.2061 low again.

In the longer term picture, corrective fall from 1.4689 (2015 high) should have completed with three waves down to 1.2061, just ahead of 50% retracement of 0.9406 (2011 low) to 1.4689 (2015 high) at 1.2048. The development keeps long term up trend from 0.9406 and that from 0.9056 (2007 low) intact. For now, there is still prospect of extending the long term up trend through 1.4689.

USD/CAD Weekly Outlook

While USD/CAD extended the consolidations from 1.4177 last week, the late surge argues that larger up trend might be ready to resume. Immediate focus is now on 1.4177 resistance this week. Decisive break there will confirm this bullish case and target 1.4391 projection level next. Rejection by 1.4177 will delay the bullish case and bring more consolidations. But outlook will continue to stay bullish as long as 1.3980 support holds.

In the bigger picture, up trend from 1.2005 (2021) is in progress. Next target is 61.8% projection of 1.2401 to 1.3976 from 1.3418 at 1.4391. Now, medium term outlook will remain bullish as long as 1.3418 support holds, even in case of deep pullback.

In the longer term picture, price actions from 1.4689 (2016 high) are seen as a consolidation pattern, which might have completed at 1.2005. That is, up trend from 0.9506 (2007 low) is expected to resume at a later stage. This will remain the favored case as long as 1.3418 support holds.
